Steven R. Barnes - Partner

EXPERIENCE
Picture of Steve Barnes Steven Barnes has been a practicing attorney since April 1989, upon receiving his Juris Doctorate. Originally a deputy district attorney in the 16th Judicial District, he was hired by the 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office in Adams County, Brighton, Colorado.

During his tenure as a deputy district attorney, he litigated numerous felony, misdemeanor and traffic offenses, gaining experience along the way. He graduated from the National College of District Attorney's "Prosecuting Drug Cases" training in Reno, Nevada.

In 1993, he joined Mastro, Barnes and Stazzone, P.C. Since that time, he has defended the criminally accused. He has litigated cases involving sex offenses, drug offenses, murder, manslaughter, weapons charges, white collar crime, juvenile offenses, DUI, domestic violence, traffic offenses and probation violations. During his years at Mastro, Barnes and Stazzone P.C., he has used his trial experience in more than 100 jury trials.

Victor Stazzone - Partner

EXPERIENCE
Picture of Victor Stazzone Victor graduated from the University of Arizona in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA). He majored in finance with a minor in Political Science. Victor graduated from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, in 1994 with his Juris Doctor degree. He was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1994. Victor was an Assistant City Attorney for the city of Aurora from 1994-1998. He was in the criminal division of the City Attorney's office and has experience ranging from minor traffic violations to misdemeanors. He graduated from DU Law School in 1994 and is a member of the Colorado Defense Bar. He left the City Attorney's office to join the law firm of Fossum, Mastro and Barnes P.C. in 1998 and has been there until the present. In 2000, he was made a partner in that firm. His primary practice is in the field of criminal defense. He has litigated every kind of criminal case from minor traffic violations to first-degree murder.
