Located just south of the Denver metro area, Centennial is a Colorado home rule municipality. This means that Centennial residents have more control over local laws and regulations that may impact their community than residents of other cities might. The Centennial municipality is located within Arapahoe County and is the 11th most populous city in the state of Colorado.

Although Centennial is rated as one of Colorado’s safest communities, legal issues can still arise here, just like any other city. If you are facing criminal charges of any kind in Centennial or a surrounding Colorado county, the team at MBS Law is ready to help. Centennial Municipality Court: What to Expect

Arapahoe County Justice Center
7325 S. Potomac St., Centennial, CO 80112

You can find additional information on the Centennial courthouse HERE.

What should I wear to my court hearing?
While there is no specific dress code for court hearings, we would recommend dressing in business casual attire. Wear a respectful outfit that doesn’t call too much attention to itself. Avoid low-cut tops, loud colors/patterns, short skirts, tight-fitting pants, or overstated accessories. Instead, opt for business tops/pants/skirts/dresses, cardigans/blazers, and conservative dress shoes.
How early should I arrive at the courthouse?
We highly recommend arriving at court AT LEAST 30 minutes before your hearing time. A late arrival will likely displease the judge and can negatively impact the outcome of your case.

Give yourself plenty of time to get to the court early, accounting for potential traffic jams, accidents, or other delays. We have noticed that our clients who get to the courthouse with plenty of time to spare typically go into their hearing with a calmer mindset than those who are running behind.

Can I bring friends and family to my court hearing for support?
Yes, you can bring loved ones with you to your court hearing for moral support. We actually recommend our clients do this if they are able to, as encouragement from family and friends can be crucial during this stressful time. However, please note that anyone you bring along will be there as an observer and will not be allowed to speak directly to the judge unless they are specifically asked to do so.
Can I speak or present evidence on my behalf during the hearing?
While you do have the right to testify during your court hearing, we recommend letting your attorney handle the bulk of your case in court. If there is a time when it would be beneficial for you to say your piece, your experienced criminal defense lawyer will let you know. Otherwise, we recommend being an active listener for the duration of the proceedings.
How should I address the judge?
Always refer to the judge as “your honor” throughout the entirety of the courtroom proceedings. Refrain from interrupting and frame any questions or responses in a respectful and non-confrontational manner. When you are speaking to the judge, stand up, make eye contact, and speak clearly and politely.
